Research On The Assessment System Of Environmental Interpretation In Eco-tourism Resorts

A sound environmental interpretation system will make the tourists understand the inner situation and the cultural character of the surrounding deeply, as they are enjoying the scenery. And by participating in the activities, they will get rich experience, which makes them love the surrounding and form positive environmental awareness. Kara Youngentob and Mark Hostetler presented the five steps of effective interpretation path, which includes identifying the object or idea, identifying your goals, identifying you audience, designing your interpretation and monitor the results. They thought that testing the results helps to make sure whether the interpretation goals are realized or not, and then the managers are able to know how to adjust the interpretation system, which make the interpretation more effective. Considering the significance of environmental interpretation and its assessment, and also the one-sidedness of the resent research on environmental interpretation assessment, this paper tries to construct an integrated assessment system with three aspects of economy, function and experience, in order to provide a consult for the study on environmental interpretation assessment and the perfection of the system construction based on it.During the researching process, this study applies comprehensively the ways of literature analysis and experts discussion to define assessing index, uses AHP to determine the index weight, and add IPA as assistant analysis tool to analyze the assessment result. Ultimately, it builds an integrated assessment system of environmental interpretation, achieve the quantitative and qualitative assessment for the eco-tourism resorts, and use this system to evaluate the environmental interpretation of Han Shiqiao wetland nature reserves, whose result is rational.The creative points of this study includes:form an comprehensive assessment system by integrating different kinds of appraising skills, under the consideration of existing evaluating way; use AHP to determine the index weight to receive quantitative result, which is more visualized; improve IPA by reassignment to make it fulfill the quant itative function, while the qualitative function was well kept; add community evaluation to the assessing process.
