The Analysis And Applied Research On Multiplier Effects Of Sichuan Transportation Network On Trourism Development

Since the 1990s, the tourism industry of Sichuan province has entered a stage of rapid development, which contributes to the GDP of Sichuan province increasingly. Tourism has six elements consisting of food, housing, transport, traveling, shopping and entertainment. The transport is extremely important to tourists whether they have arrived or not. The complexity of the terrain in Sichuan, however, makes it difficult to the transport development, either between Sichuan and other provinces, or within different parts of Sichuan province. Without the support of a sophisticated transport network, tourism in any province can hardly play well, develop well, and contribute well, even if possessing rich tourism resources. Therefore, the study of the relevance and application between the transport network and the tourism development in Sichuan province, which will certainly have theoretical and practical values in solving transport network bottlenecks and promoting the tourism development in Sichuan province.This paper described the current situation of tourism and transport in Sichuan province. Based on the qualitative analysis of their relationship, using input and output method, gray relational analysis and multiple linear regression analysis, the paper made quantitative analysis about the influences the development of transport network exerts to tourism development, the importance of different transport modes, and the effects of road traffic network on the development of tourism in Sichuan province. The final conclusions are:The paper analyzed total input coefficient of tourism in Sichuan province to the transport by the input-output method, and get the tourism multiplier of transportation to tourism.The paper analyzed the correlation among railways, highways, waterways, air transportation and tourism by the gray relational model. The results show that the correlation between highway and tourism development is the biggest one, which means highway has contributed most to the development of tourism in Sichuan province, followed by water transport, railways and civil aviation.The paper also divided the province into western and non-Western regions, explained the phenomenon of inconsistent between tourism revenues and the distribution of tourism resources based on the actual situation of the development of traffic transport industry, and found that the multiplier effect of the west road network on the development of tourism is much bigger.
