| On June 29th,2003, Mainland and Hong Kong SAR Government signed " Mainland /Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) ". CEPA is a framework document to launch a new round of economic cooperation between Mainland and Hong Kong. A lot of preferential policies enhance the economic communication and speed up the process of economic integration between Hong Kong and Mainland, especially for Guangdong province. The official signing and implementation of CEPA lowers the market entry requirement for those designed services industries and broadens the scope and depth for Hong Kong producer services industries in accessing in Guangdong market. These measures not only provide a good opportunity and ample space for Hong Kong services industries, which are the main drive for Hong Kong economy, but also excellently promote competitive strength of manufacturing and the development standards of relevant services industries in Guangdong province, and finally enhance the growth of economy in Guangdong province.This paper starts with the theoretical summary, discusses the relevant theories of producer services and regional industry cooperation; summarizes the situation of the cooperation in producer services between Guangdong and Hong Kong under the CEPA framework; carries out the analysis of the cooperation in producer services between Guangdong and Hong Kong; on this basis, analyzes the problems in strengthening the cooperation in producer services between Guangdong and Hong Kong and raises the relevant strategies and recommendations. In closing remarks, the author points out the conclusion of this paper, that is if we want to strengthen the cooperation in producer services between Guangdong and Hong Kong and finally achieve the economic integration between Guangdong and Hong Kong, we must eliminate the deep and fundamental institutional differences between Guangdong and Hong Kong. |
