The Research Of Guangdong's Energy Consumption Based On Industry Level

The energy is an important material resource of human existence, economic development, social progress and modern civilization. It is a significant strategic material to national economic arteries and national defense safety. As the process of industrialization accelerating in Guangdong, the restriction brought by energy consumption to economic development emerged and becomes more and more obvious. The thesis researched the characteristics of energy consumption and economic development on industrial levels in Guangdong. Using industrial difference of energy consumption as the main line and energy consumption intensity indicator, the thesis particularly focused on five factors including energy price, the internal structure in industry, the extent of foreign direct investment, energy consumption structure and ownership structure to analyze their impacts on industrial energy consumption intensity in Guangdong.The results demonstrated that there are long-term equilibriums between energy consumption and added value in the three industries, and the effects of energy consumption in each industry to each industry are different, energy consumption in the second industry has positive influence on industrial development. The impacts of the internal structure in industry and energy consumption structure on high energy-consuming industrial group are great. Therefore, structure adjustment will be more effective to energy-saving in this industrial group. Energy price and the extent of foreign direct investment have great impacts on mid and low energy-consuming groups. Therefore, the thesis puts forward that not only general factors which affect industrial energy consumption but also particular factors in different industries should be considered when establishes some energy-saving measures. Guangdong should take macro-control policies with the principle of distinction to realize energy conservation.
