Research On The Selection And Development Of Leading Industry Of Modern Service Industry Of Luoyang City

Since the first transforming to the service economy of the United States in the middle of 1960s, most of the principle developed countries have entered the period of service economy in succession. In resent years, with the vigorous knowledge-based, specialization and informatization impelling force, the technology-intensive and knowledge-intensive modern service section has expanded rapidly and become the leading industry and new economic growth point in developed countries and areas. Under the present economic situation, to accelerate the development of the modern service section is the inherent requirements and strategic choices to create more jobs, optimize industrial structure, improve economic returns as a whole and promote the coordinated development of economy and society.The industry section of Luoyang has maintained a rather rapid growth while service sector has severely lagged behind for a long time for the reason that industry is the leading sector in economy. The proportion of modern service sector in GDP is far smaller than the national average level and the gap to the developed areas is even much deeper. Therefore, how to choose and cultivate proper leading industry in modern service sector has not only important theoretical meaning but also practical value for promoting the harmonious development of the economy and society.From the view of theory, the paper probes into the industrial structure and status of development of modern service sector in Luoyang on the base of the given theory and relevant research of service economy and leading industry at home and broad. After that, the problems existing in modern service sector are pointed out and from the view of strategic management. Furtherly, with the method of positive analysis, the author establishes the index evaluation system of leading industry selection, carries out the factor analysis with the application of SPSS and defines the leading industry of modern service industry of Luoyang. Finally, according to the practical situation, some suggestions to develop leading industry of modern service industry are proposed on two dimensions, the development of the industries on their own and the improvement of external environment.
