| Neo-liberalism, emerging in 1930s when capitalism was developed from private monopoly to state monopoly, is a trend of thought defending for capitalist system and interests of the capitalist class in the western economy. As an important theoretic basis for the western capitalist policy of "welfare states", neo-liberalism has a wide influence all over the world. With the further development of China's Reform and Opening-up, the interaction of thoughts and theories between China and western countries has become a necessity. At the same time, as part of western strategy on ideology, western capitalist countries are trying hard to promote the neo-liberalism in the world. Neo-liberalism, as not only a theory but also a trend of thought and policy, will inevitably influence China's development path and modality. Therefore, it is necessary to study the Neo-liberalism and reveal its essence and the reason of its development. This will not only help correct people's wrong understandings about it and promote the cultural and ethical progress, but also keep the direction of the socialist reform and Marxism's guiding position in ideology. The thesis firstly gives a systematic introduction to the content, development and theory origins of neo-liberalism. Then it introduces the most representative and influential schools of neo-liberalism in 1980s and 1990s, and the basis standpoints of neo-liberalism from the perspective of economic and political theory and international strategy. The practices of those standpoints have brought serious consequences to Latin-American and Eastern European countries including Russia. Finally, it analyses the essence of neo-liberalism from the ideology point of view and the threat neo-liberalism might impose on China's ideology, the main role of public ownership and CPC's ruling position, so China should made to maintain strategy on ideology security. |
