Start from nothing, NW became market leader on industrial valve within a decade. However followed by rapid sales growth, company start to appear slow down on administration, quality and customer focus management. Start from late of 2008 and soon after wiping the whole world, the global fianancial crisis made NW in even more difficult situation. NW faces a serious challenge: what is the nature of problem? How to solve the problem? How to adjest company strategy to keep sustainable competitiveness?With this background, this paper conducted an objective analysis on NW Company's external and internal comptetive environment with a tool of competitive strategy theory, and then pointed out what is the company's unique resources and capacity advantage, and on this basis, combining the company's vision and mission, this paper further analysis the company market positioning and general competitive strategy. This paper give an overall conclusion that the differentiation rather than the total cost leadership shoube be the company's current and future core competitive strategy. In the implementation of the strategy, this paper gives recommendations on corporate culture, organization design, marketing management, new product development and value chain management. This study may give NW management a high value to realize the nature of current company management difficulty as well as how to take correct company strategy. This study may also helpful for other manufacturer who is also in the same industrial valve sector or similar industry.
