Study On Catch-Up Strategy Of China's Software Industry In The Globalization Era

Based on the industry catch-up theory and method, and combined with the development rules of the software industry, this paper makes a deeply analysis on China's software industry catch-up issue in the globalization era.First, the paper introduces and evaluates four main theories:the advantage of backwardness, the diamond theory of strategic management theory, industrial technology catch-up theory, and other relevant theories. Second, according to the theories and the specific situation of China's software industry, this paper tries to expand and improve the model, thought joining the industrial policy, technology, external resources, markets and enterprise capabilities into the industrial technology catch-up model, this paper proposes China's software industry catch-up model. Third, this paper conducts an empirical analysis of the industry catch-up model depending on China's software industry data, and then investigates the possibility for China's software industry to realize the industrial catch-up theoretically. Fourth, through the research this paper gives some recommendations in policy on the problems of restricting China's software industry, and proposes strategies for China's software industry. Fifth, this paper supplies two case presentations as examples of the model.The paper's major conclusions are:(1), China's software industry is in a period of rapid development, and the technology gap with the leading countries is getting shorter, therefore there's possibility for China's software industry to realize a long-term development and eventually catch up with the leading countries;(2), The development of different market segments is experiencing different situations, which need different strategies;(3), It's necessary to develop clear strategic plans for China's software industry to achieve the industry catching up, with a coordination of the partial and the overall development.
