With the rapid development of socio-economy and urbanization, City s eco-system produces many problems, such as the depletion of resources, soil erosion, pollution,urban development and eco-environmental crises have attracted the whole world's attention. How to apply the theory and method of bionomics to resolve the various problems of urban environment, to build more livable eco-city for people, to realize the harmonious development of urban economy, society and ecological environment is a fatal challenge for all the people working on the ecological and environmental protection. Ecological suitability study is catching more attention. It will have a wide applied range and expansive enveloping. By using eco-suitability evaluation to explore the crux of urban ecology, take effective measures and provide new opportunities for city's sustainable development. The main contents of this thesis:(1) It introduces the background and significance in which the city ecological suitability was brought forward; describes the basic theory of eco-suitability evaluation.(2) This paper establishes an ecological suitability evaluation index system according to the nation's standard for ecological model area and ecological city, the principles for selection and the situation of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration. Twenty-three indicators which contain most information on urban eco-suitability were chosen from production position, life position and environment position.(3) On the basis of the traditional evaluation methods and models, this thesis introduces the grey theory to urban ecological suitability. Establish a grey relation model for eco-suitability evaluation.Ascertain the weights of different indexes affecting on eco-suitability with entropy coefficient in the process of evaluation. Then, evaluated samples are arranged according to associated value.(4) We use eco-suitability model to assess the ecological suitability of 8 cities in Shandong Peninsula urban cluster, Then analyze the proximity of actual value and optimization (ideal) value. The results show that:the gradation is Weihai, Dongying, Qingdao, Yantai, Jinan, Zibo, Rizhao, Weifang. Weihai is on the top, Weifang is at the bottom. Comparing the results with those fromtraditional indexes method,the conclusions are analogous.So the model is scientific.(5) We discuss spatial rules of the evaluated cities according to grey cluster analysis.The results show that the samples divide into three groups:a high eco-suitability include Weihai and Dongying; a middle eco-suitability include Qingdao, Yantai and Jinan; a low eco-suitability include Zibo, Rizhao and Weifang. The urban eco-suitability of the eastern cities are better than the mid-weste cities, coastal cities are better than inland cities.Comparing the results with the value of eco-suitability, the conclusions are analogous.So the model is feasibility.On the basis of previous studies to introduce grey relation analysis model into urban eco-suitability assessment firstly. We systemically establishe the index system of integrated estimation of urban ecological suitability, combined with the object's real development situation. Ascertain the weights of different indexes affecting on eco-suitability with entropy coefficient to avoid the interference of man-made subjective factorsand gray cluster analyze the results.The evaluation method used in this paper to reflect associated value, also reveal spatial difference in urban eco-suitability development. The method is practicable and maneuverable in urban eco-suitability evaluation and eco-city construction.
