With the rapid development of our country's society and economy, traffic in cities has increased in an unprecedented speed, the contradiction between traffic supply and demand sharpens and traffic issue has become an serious problem in cities. Many scholars hold that if the traffic capacity can be made full use of , it is an effective solution to solve the above contradiction. While, the development of information technology has provided a solid solution to solve the contradiction.The main theories and methods of travel behavior studies are sumed up in the thesis. Traffic information has been added into the travel choice model as an important factor, so the model bulit in this thesis has more practical meaning compared with models under no traffic information circumstances.Firstly, traffic information has been classified by different standards, the attributes of traffic information, such as the quality, released channel and location, have been analyzed. Then, the function of traffic information has been discussed in the personal and systemic respect. There is an interaction among traveler, real-time traffic information and real-time traffic situation, and travelers'decisions are related with these three factors. Meanwhile, the travelers'dynamic cognitive process under circumstances of traffic information is given out in the thesis. This process is a continuing learning and readjusting one, which can be divided into three parts of before departure, on route and after travel. Furthermore, the possible results of information oversaturation, overreaction, concentration under circumstances of traffic information.Secondly, the theory and methord of stated preference survery are expatiated. The preference data of travels in Jilin City of Jilin Province under circumstances of traffic information are collected by stated preference survery. A basic datebase is built after integrality and validity check of original data. Then, characteristic analyse is carried out from the aspects of travelers'family and personal attributes as well as their traffic information acquirement situation.Finally, based on the theory of disaggregate model and its modeling methord, using the worked data, the before-departure and on-route choice models under circumstances of traffic information are built. The models are calibrated and tested by applying the statistics software of STATA 10. Based on the model, the important factors affected the travels'before-departure and on-route choice under circumstances of traffic information are revealed. Research proved that the personal attributes as age, education and income, the family attributes as whether has children before 6 year's old as well as traffic information acquirement situation as the familiar degree of road situation, the most concerned traffic information attributes, are important factors affected the models. When using the model, by inputing the value of relative variables, the model can predict the choice probability.
