In this Paper, General conception of core-banking system is firstly introduced, including architecture and design idea based on component. The requirement analysis,design,implementation,test of Inner City exchange settlement is described in details. The successful launching of this system will make a great improvement to e-banking and modernized management.It is no doubt that Core-banking system is vital to daily operation of a bank, whereas the traffic of the Inner City exchange settlement is about 60% of the daily traffic, so Inner City exchange settlement is the most important function module of core-banking system. The core-banking system of the Commercial Bank is co-developed by the IT department of the Commercial Bank and the Software Co. As key member of the team, the author successfully developed Inner City Exchange Settlement module.During the development, p690 series minicomputer of IBM is used , with Aix as OS,TUXEDO as middleware, the database is INFORMIX, the Storage system is DMX-3, the FAST as development tools be used.The main technology challenge and innovation during development of Inner City exchange settlement is described in details. Boc is used in modularizing of the developping platform; Tran (transaction assemblage) is used as the methodology in transaction process design. In database design, backup field is adopted to cope with the unpredictable variation of structure of data table. In order to avoid misoperation, an innovated idea–"step by step"is used in business logic control module. Response speed and operation efficiency are two most important issues for core-banking system, some innovation idea about these is also introduced as part of the paper.Now the system is running successfully, and plays an import role in centralized management of banking data, location independent banking service, transaction security and operation efficiency.
