Performance evaluation is the process which is to develop an objective and fair decision-making on evaluating the personnel performance of employees.The study aims to reveal the features on performance evaluation of the world top 500 enterprises, then compare the mechanism differences on the performance evaluation between Chinese enterprises and Fortune 500 enterprises, find the shortcomings on the performance evaluation mechanism of Chinese enterprises ,and provide effective suggestion for Chinese enterprises to learn from the performance evaluation concepts of the world top 500 enterprises.The study pointed out, the features of the twenty-five enterprises come from the world top 500 are as follows: the concerns of performance evaluation is determined by the concept of performance; performance plan consistent with the up and down; allow sufficient time to develop performance plans; guarantee the fair and just of the process of performance evaluation; improve the quality of managers and to eliminate the negative effects of psychological effects; performance evaluation is supported and recognized by managers; create a harmonious atmosphere for employees to communicate which is based on the recognition and encouragement of employees; the form of interview is various ,to build good complaint channels; the main objective of interviews is to enhance staff capacity ; the use of performance evaluation is full of effectiveness and attractiveness; the use of performance evaluation should wide the gap in order to give better play to the incentive function.The problem on performance evaluation of Chinese Enterprise are as follows: performance evaluation is not accurate targeting; have no scientific job analysis; the index system of performance evaluation is unreasonable; performance communication mechanism is not perfect, and lack the sustained and effective communication; to use the result of performance evaluation is not sufficiently comprehensive; the cycle of performance evaluation is unreasonable, and too rigid.The enlightenment that the Chinese enterprises can gain from the performance evaluation of Fortune 500 companies are as follows: establish a philosophy of human resource management which is People-oriented; establish the systematic ideas of performance evaluation; establish and improve the communication mechanisms of performance evaluation; carry out performance evaluation to meet China's national conditions; to build a scientific index system of performance evaluation; attention the application of performance evaluation; establish a scientific performance evaluation institution.
