Study On The Problem Of The Yangtze Delta Area's Industry Isomorphism Based On Industry Segmentation

As one of the most developed areas in China, Yangtze River delta's regional economic development and upgrading of industrial structure adjustment has inevitably attracted great attention from all walks of life. But there has been a divide on whether industrial isomorphism problem exists in Yangtze delta area. Some scholars hold that Yangtze River delta area presents serious industrial isomorphism problem, and come up with the interactive-makeup industrial development policy. While some scholars put forward the Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai industrial isomorphism is actually the phenomenon of close industry level division within Yangtze River delta, which is not necessarily with negative meanings. Other scholars pointed out there is no practical significance on discussing Yangtze River delta area industrial isomorphism problem on the base of three industry classification or in the internal manufacturing unless the industry segments are limited on product level. How to make clear the essence of the problems on Yangtze River delta area industrial structure, and further providing the scientific basis for the future development of Yangtze River delta region are major issues urgently need to be resolved.The research is a case study on automobile industry, which is based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis, combines empirical analysis and canonical parse, and integrates theory with practice. Through empirical analysis on Yangtze River delta regional industrial structure with literature statistics techniques and location quotient, structure similarity coefficient analysis and other methods, we have got the main conclusion which revealed the essence of the long triangle area industrial isomorphism problem.The first part is induction, which has introduced some basic concepts, isomorphism measure method, the selection, research methods and research purposes, the innovation.The second part is the theory and research review. Theoretical part elaborates on the regularity of industrial structure evolution and some theories on evolution model, including First Clark Law, Kuznets Law, Hoffman Law, Product Development Cycle Theory, Flying Geese Theory of Development, Growth Pole Theory, etc. This part has compiled domestic and foreign literatures from several aspects such as whether the Industrial isomorphism exists and why, the influence of it, and how to deal with it.The third part has made an empirical analysis on the problem of the Yangtze River delta area industrial structure. First, qualitative and quantitative analysis on the industrial structure of Yangtze river delta (including a city of the two provinces) have been made; Then, through quantitative analysis on the 16 city's industrial structure in Yangtze river delta on the base of structural similarity coefficient and location quotient analysis, obvious regional and economic relationships on the industrial structure between them have been found.The fourth part takes the automobile industry as an example, and analyzes the industrial structure problem of long triangle under different segments by using location quotient analysis method. Firstly, analysised the whole car industry structure problems of Yangtze River delta region, and revealed that the Yangtze River delta region exist certain degree of isomorphism phenomenon; Then the vehicle industry structure is analyzed, and the sedans, passenger vehicle and trucks industry structure are analyzed respectively. Finally, through comprehensive analysis, we have found the advantages and disadvantages on the automobile industry of Yangtze River delta provinces and discovered that as automobile industry is constantly refined, isomorphism level gradually lowered.The fifth part of the research gathered the conclusion from these above studies, and put forward suggestions to the future development of auto industry in the , Yangtze River delta.
