Analysis On China's Trade Performance Under Export Structure Upgrading

In 2009,China became the world's largest exporter, the achievements of foreign trade are well known,but the problems are also evident.According to traditional trade theory, the upgrading of export structure from primary products to manufactured goods,from labor-intensive products to capital-and technology-intensive products will increase trade performance.The structure of China's exports continues upgrading, but the trade performance has not been significantly improved.In this context, analyzing the current situation,causes and ways to break of China's trade performance under trade structure will be no doubt great significance.First of all,this paper characterized stylized facts of China's trade structure upgrading by different indicators, and measuring the welfare effects of China's trade performance by China's terms of trade index and Hossain and Chowdbury's foreign trade indicators.Objective evaluation of China's trade performance through the empirical analysis of international comparison,proposed the "paradox" of China's trade development, that is,the high export trade structure and low trade performance co-exist.Secondly, according to the current situation of the new international division of labor, from the perspective of intra-product division explain the "paradox"of China's trade development. Finally, discuss ways of improving China's trade performance in a realistic choice, and proposed new thinking and new ideas.of China's participation in a new pattern of intra-product division to climb the value chainTwo features are reflected in this study. One is objective assessment of China's trade performance by measuring the height of China's export commodity structure and terms of trade,especially through international comparative analysis.Another is,from the perspectives of intra-product division,explaining the "paradox" of China's trade development and explore ways reflecting both China's labor-abundant natural resources,but also can improve the performance of China's foreign trade.
