The Evaluation Of China's International Logistics Development Level

Nowadays, logistics is considered the lifeline and foundation of national economy in the international.And it is known as the "accelerator" and " third profit source" which promotes economic growth. International logistics is the extension and expansion in the geographical field of logistics, which refers to the logistics between/among different countries (regions).International logistics ensures the achievement of international trade. Moreover, International logistics is the necessary part of the international trade, which is playing an important role in promoting the development of the global trade, especially for such a country which has a rapid growth in foreign trade, and is to be the world manufacturing industry centre. So it is of great significance in accelerating the development of international logistics.After joining WTO, the range and scale of our country international trade expand further, and member states grant each other the most-favoured-nation trading status between member countries.So customs duties reduces substantially, and the import and export of commodity and equipment are more free, smooth. Accordingly, the amount of international trade increase substantially, and the amount of international logistics business accordingly increased substantially. Meanwhile, as our country logistics fields of the full liberalization of foreign investment in November 2005,the entry of foreign logistic enterprises and global competition of logistics undoubtedly brings about more intense and cruel competition to international logistics which is just taking off in our country. Therefore, in such circumstances, it is of great theoretical and practical significance to give a comprehensive and systematic analysis and evaluation of the level of China's international logistics development and to put forward some practical feasible development suggestions and countermeasures.The international logistics issue is complicated cross-sectoral,which is related to many aspects.It is not only a matter of transportation, storage, handling, customs clearance, information processing, but also closely related to the port's own regional conditions, infrastructural facilities, service levels, management capability, the port city and its hinterland economic strength and so on. Therefore, to analyse and evaluate the development of the international logistics is a fuzzy, integrated synthetical complicated issue. According to the study about the international development of the logistics industry and the level of evaluation studies, a system of statistical methods has not still formed in domestic.Therefore, in order to evaluate the development level of the international logistics, the first thing is to construct the evaluation index system.The paper constructs a evaluation index system of international logistics development level.By using this index system, the main ports international logistics development level is evaluated subjectively through factor analysis and cluster analysis approach. Finally, in light of China's international logistics in the current development issues, propose targeted solutions and proposals.
