At present, the teaching reform of the higher education is focused on two aspects, one is pushing forward the double-language teaching, and, the other is spreading the information-technology teaching, esp. on the utilization of Internet. For the later, the general attention of the tutors is drawn upon the full use of the Internet technology. IT-assisted teaching is based on the organic combination of both information-technology (network-technology) and subject courses. It is a brand new way of tutoring to fulfill the task of teaching utilizing the existing information network but without breaking away from traditional classroom teaching. Under the guidance of the theory of constructivism and Learning and Teaching by Osubell, this thesis makes a circumscription on the IT-assisted teaching, and in the mean while, makes a discuss on the teaching target, teaching principle and teaching mode for IT-assisted teaching of general physics course. Therefore, a prime study is made on the related issues about IT-assisted teaching mode of the general physics after our theoretic analysis and educational experiments.This thesis is made up of five parts. Part I is an introduction on the backgrounds, significations and status of IT-assisted teaching. Part II, according to and also based on the learning theory of constructivism and the theory of Learning and Teaching by Osubell, expatiates the theoretic basement of IT-assisted teaching and brings forth an ideal IT-assisted teaching structure. Comparing the characters of traditional classroom teaching with that of IT-assisted teaching, part III makes a circumscription for the new teaching method. Part IV brings forward the teaching target, principle and mode about IT-assisted teaching of general physics course, which is the most essential of the thesis itself. Part V studies the educational practice on IT-assisted teaching mode of general physics course, through experiments in that way, and, after the discussion and analysis on the result of the experiments, a reasonable proposal is finally lodged.
