Gis Applications In The Travel Industry

In recent years,China's tourism industry has developed rapidly,the informationization of tourism industry has become a kind of inevitable trend. A tour product needs a information system that provides integrated multiple functions such as recommending ,organizing,booking and querying. As an important part of information technology,Geographic Information System(GIS) has met the needs of tour products,which want to express their spatial characteristics,because it has a set of special functions to inquire and analyze the spatial data. The combination of GIS and tourism will deepen the process of the informationization of tourism industry,change its present appearance and then promote further and sustainable development of Chinese tourism.This paper reviews and prospects the process of tourism informationization at home and abroad, analyzes some characteristics and implementation methods of using GIS technology in tourism .GIS technology combined with the tourism information will provide a great opportunity and marked potential , a sample framework solution for the application is set up .According to theory and methods of system engineering,this paper studied the tourism information management based a golf course GIS. The structure and function of tourism GIS was designed by analyzing the object, the user'demand and the source of data. By using object-oriented and controller-oriented method,the golf course GIS was developed.In this system ,using spatial analytic function of GIS to carry out subsidiary decision-making system. It alse make good use of the function of statistical analysis to do some analysis about the resources of golf course.By this application,you can use multimethods to query what you concern for or print special topic map what you need. Because tourism information concerns a lot of fields,the system still many parts needs to be consummated.
