Like other research subjects of resources, oil - gas reservoirs subjects have intrinsic spatial identity and attribute parameter. Because of objects being processed synchronously at underground precise locating information and related attribute information, the dealing process is rather complex. GIS the most applied functional model contains space data, property data structure, data query and its visualization, spatial analysis and accessorial decision-support. This paper tries to apply GIS to petroleum geology field and uses spatial data management and query of Geographic Information Systems to solve a series of problems in oil and gas reservoir manage and evaluate. From the three parts that GIS and reservoir description, GIS and reservoir 3D visualization, we can put oil-gas reservoir management and query to GIS environment. In this way to improve efficiency of oil and gas exploratory development, ameliorate ability of reservoir information management and manipulation then boost up expressive force of reservoir visualization.GIS and oil gas reservoir management joint reflects at three parts: GIS and reservoir description, GIS and reservoir evaluate, GIS and reservoir 3D visualization. GIS improves complete relational data base management style of up to date spatial data and attribute data. GIS makes use of relational data base to store and dispose spatial data, to achieve seamless integration and integrative store management between reservoir spatial data and attribute data. Evaluation of performance in Oil and gas reservoir accumulate which supported by GIS is using GIS implement. It is taking layer information as foundation, geologic model as basis, mathematical model as bridge, layer operation as form, taking evaluate and forecast of oil-gas reservoir. Reservoir 3Dvisualization under GIS system applies 3D GIS technology to 3D seismic data display and assistant professionals interpreting seismic exploration information. Geologic structure figure under GIS system has depth perception and stereo perception, can greatly improve reservoir managers' working efficiency with interactive manipulation.GIS oil-gas reservoir management systems which comprehends, makes definition, analyzes and express problems in oil and gas reservoir management and decision-making from GIS point of view. Then use GIS assembly module to analyze, build module, solve, at last finish system data base exploitation, system overall design and system functional modular development. This system is a visualized assistant decision system which face to petroleum system, use Visual Basic 6.0 as basic exploitation environment, use SuperMap Objects as unit type and GIS as basic function to achieve terrace, use data organization scheme of document/ data base mixed mode, use double document pattern to manage system data. System function contains data input and manage, spatial query and analyze, reservoir accumulate performance evaluation, reservoir 3D visualization, evaluation result output and so on.At last this paper applies the research thinking and methods to manage oil and gas reservoir in ChiShui Region of GuiZhou Province, so it indicates that the thinking and methods are effective and feasible.
