Recently, the Geographic Information System has been the perfectly tool for the analysis of space variables about the disasters in risk assessments of the area of Landslide. At the same time, the study for building GIS-based Landslide risk assessment information system has been a hot issue.This paper has deeply studied the GIS-based Landslide risk assessment and established a system of indicators and the corresponding information standards, brought out the division of Geological hazards theory and methodology, which based on the application of GIS; and deeply studied in data extraction from space evaluation, spatial analysis, the analysis of evaluation prediction model, software development and the results product and so on; designed and completed a GIS-based Landslide risk assessment information system for the professional users; this system has been used in Yucheng district of Ya'an city and.has got the practical results. Through these studies, we can get the following results or conclusions.(1) This paper has deeply studied the theory of GIS-based Landslide risk assessment space analysis, brought the space multidimensional criteria decision analysis into the landslide risk assessment and based on this, developed the professional division evaluation model.(2) The development of the GIS-based Landslide risk assessment information system, has started from the view of system, based on the whole and used for the professional users; the design of this system reflected the design of software engineering, from the user needs, system analysis, system design, system achievement to practical application, created a standardized system and prominent the profession and the practicality.(3) Worked on the basis of the above, this system used the object-oriented programming language C #, based on ESRI's ArcGIS Engine secondary development, completed the software and achieved some features such as graphical editor display and query, spatial analysis of data, raster processing, data preprocessing, the index system of selection and editing, professional evaluation model; this study made full use of the advanced software platform, took the strategy of object-oriented programming and systems integration ,achieved the aim of completing the application system in a short time and supplied the advanced tools for regional geological evaluation.(4) Using the system completed the work of basic map data input for the selected area and the work of editing; formatted regional evaluation required thematic maps by the methods of evaluation quantitative indicators. Using the professional evaluation model evaluated the study area for thematic graphics risk evaluation, tested the GIS spatial multi-criteria decision analysis model and made the corresponding evaluation of the results maps. The results showed that this paper completed the GIS-based Landslide risk assessment from the theoretical methods and techniques and had strong evaluation function and further expansion of capacity.
