Coal mining and its utilization has had the huge economic benefits and the social efficiency, but also has brought a series of damage to the ecological environment in mining area at the same time, and it directly impact on people's safety and life. So monitoring land surface subsidence in mining area is an important part of coal mining and sustainable development. At present, monitoring surface subsidence in mining area mainly relies on the traditional methods, such as leveling, the static GPS survey and the dynamic GPS survey.Differential Interferometry Synthetic Aperture Radar technology is a new space on earth observation technology developed in1990s. It can measure minute earth deformation, such as Land subsidence, earthquake deformation, volcano dynamics, landslide, and glacier movement. The precision can be achieved at the centimeter level, even the millimeter level. Compared with the tradition technologies to monitor the land subsidence, DInSAR technology has the advantages of large sampling, short time measurement and low cost, so it will be the monitoring technology of land subsidence development direction in the future. However, due to atmospheric disturbances, baseline decorrelation phenomena and theporal decorrelation, DInSAR technology in monitoring mining subsidence have not been improved perfect and need to be further in-depth study. Therefore, studies on the DInSAR technology have the important application value and the broad application prospect in land subsidence monitoring in the mining area. This paper has done a comprehensive system of research on the application of DInSAR technology to monitor land subsidence in mining area. The main research and results are listed as follows:(1) The basic principles and the data processing flow charts of InSAR to derive DEM and of DInSAR to monitor deformation of earth's surface were presented and analyzed deeply.(2) It deeply studies on the key technologies of DInSAR data processing, such as image registration, flat-earth removal, phase unwrapping, geocode and generate deformation map. Then it analyzes the error sources, which influence the measuring precision of DInSAR.(3) Taking the land subsidence in a mining area in northern Jining as the study area, this paper carries out the application of DInSAR to monitor land subsidence in mining area tests with 6 ENVISAT ASAR data, and it obtains the well results.(4) According to the results of land subsidence in mining area, advanced theory and method of ground movement models and parameters identification and principle of probability-integral method, this paper determine parameters of surface movement and preliminary test the feasibility of using DInSAR to analyse rock strata and surface movement in mining area in order to prepare the ground for the further application of DInSAR in mining area.
