This paper summarizes the water purification process, which includes the flocculation of solid impurities, wastewater decolorization, the methods of organic toxins and heavy metals removal in wastewater, the modification of polyacrylamide. The discuss is about, under the microwave conditions, a series of NPAM with different molecular weight were prepared as water solution by oxidation and reduction initiatin gsystem. In order to get the best technical conditions,the effects of some factors on molecular weight are studied such as the amount of initiator,consisteney of the reactant, time of reaction and pH. Respectively the use of formaldehyde, glyoxal and other simple organic aldehyde as the raw material by the initiator react graft polymerization with ployacrylamide, and formaldehy-ployacrylamide, glyoxal-ployacrylamide were synthesized by infrared spectrum confirmed. The quality of product analysis and chemical analysis of the remaining raw materials are that the excessive use of low molecular weight aldehydes, there is a large number of monomer residues will bring secondary pollution in the environment.With the best ratio of raw materials,the molecular weight of ployacrylamide is 1.71×106, the molecular weight of formaldehy-ployacrylamide is 4.03×107, and the molecular weight of glyoxal-ployacrylamide is 4.22×107. Flocculation test testifies that the effects of NPAM and formaldehyde-ployacrylamide are equal to polyacrylamide which is saled in the market, while the effect of flocculation water purification of glyoxal-ployacrylamide slightly is better than the polyacrylamide which is saled in the market. Specially in the alkaline wastewater, it is better than other conditions that is the effect of flocculation water purification of glyoxal-ployacrylamide.
