With the development of national economic, vehicle production is increasing each year, and the automotive exhaust becomes one of the main sources of air pollution. In order to reduce air pollution and improve air quality, many countries have made use of a lot of human and financial power to carry out the studies and published new vehicle exhaust emission standards. The emergence of a new generation of vehicle exhaust detecting equipment is required urgently. This paper study on the new automobile exhaust detection system based on ARM-LINUX platform after analyzing the present situation of this research area and the current vehicle exhaust detecting equipment. In this research, a new kind of Thermopile sensor is used as the core of the equipment, which employs Lambert-Beer's law as the theoretical principle. It can simultaneously detect carbon monoxide in vehicle exhaust (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), and Hydrocarbons (HC). It can also use the photochemical sensors to detect the components of oxygen (02) and nitrogen oxide (NO) in the vehicle exhaust gas. This paper designs a complete automobile exhaust detection system, which includes the structure and selection of gas chamber, light source, sensors, filters, etc. In circuit design scheme, ARM peripheral circuits, light source control circuit, signal conditioning circuit (amplification, filtering processing), digital-analog conversion circuits, and LCD display driver circuit are designed. In the data processing, this paper designs a kind of fuzzy temperature compensation scheme, in which the measurement error caused by environmental temperature can be corrected by fuzzy inference in order to ensure the measurement accuracy. About graphical interface and communication program, this paper carries out a series of research work, which include transplanting the program in Linux system to the ARM platform, building the host specific cross-development environment, writing the program of the relevant drivers and graphical interface and employing the UDP communication program. The simulation and experiment demonstrates it's precision, real-time and stability for achieving the expected goals. The research in this paper makes a progress in meeting the new vehicle exhaust emission standards and industry-standards of the automobile exhaust detection.
