Cineole is aromatic oil secreted from eucalyptus leaves gland cells. Cineole has been produced in China since 1958. China mainly exports cineole wih content 80%. There is a lot of vacancies in exporting high-purity cineole.99% cineole is very expensive. High purity cineole is widely used in many fields,especially in medicine,so it is significance to produce high purity cincole.Research on cineole purification. Cineole was purificated from 59% to 98% using urging batch distillation, inθ-squeezing ring packed tower, batch distillation in the experment with urging solvent.Main contents included:(1) In the first distillation, raw material was 59% cineole,with 10% urging solvent.It cost 9 hours. Operating conditions were top pressure 4.31kPa, constant reflux ratio 6. The experiment results showed that 87% cineole was reached under bottom temperature 70℃and top 63℃.(2) In the second distillation, raw material was product of the first distillation.It took 8 hours. Operating conditions were the same with the first distillation. The results showed that 94% cineole was reached under bottom temperature 72℃and top 65℃.(3) In the third distillation, raw material was product of the second distillation.It cost 8 hours. Operating conditions were the same with the first and the second distillations. The results showed that 98% cineole was reached under bottom temperature 75℃and top 67℃.Aggregating three distillations,we can purificated cineole to 98% with an enough high packed tower.Research on cineole equilibrium. Cineole equilibrium data with different solvents were tested.It was found that solvent Y was the most efficient among solvent J,YM and YB. Comparing equilibrium data between using solvent Y and not,it was found that equilibrium curve with solvent Y was further from the diagonal.It means the separation process would become easier by using solvent Y.Disscussion on influence of operating conditions, and optimizating of the distillation process. Optimizating conditions were obtained.Usingθ-squeezing ring packed tower packed high 880mm, top pressure 4.31kPa, raw material composition 0.59,feeding at room temperature,increasing reflux ratio gradually from 10 to 25,separation request could be reached,0.99 cineole was gained and bottom liquid no higher than 0.05.
