| This thesis use a United Kingdom clothing brand, Barbour, as case study, by on large visual material (include images, pictures, books, advertising, website, and film etc), and literature information of analysis, by culture study and semiology of methods of visual culture study, aims to tease Barbour clothing, image, and brand culture's building process, and the clothing in different of history stage highlights out of culture significance; revealed the different races, classes, and cultures of identity's construction and struggle which behind the clothing. The thesis also include the discussion on the elite culture, the mass culture, and the subculture mutual transformation of mode, and the subculture culture clothing style of expression structure. |
