Polymers were used to modify complexes with spin-transition properties through chemical and physical methods so as to improve their magnetic properties and processing properties. Accordingly, spin-transition material is promising to use as information storage material. FTIR, XRD, 1HNMR and GPC were used to characterize the structure of polymers and their composites. DSC,SQUID and UV were used to test the spin-transition property of complexes. The main content of this dissertation is as follows:1 We introduced the structure of spin-transition complexes and study of the progress in application. We also reviewed spin-transition complex materials from the spin-transition mechanism, testing methods of the complex and its application of information storage material.2 Synthesizing novel complexes by means of polymer-based ligands. With 2-bromo-propionate as initiator, CuBr/2, 2-bipyridine as catalytic system, and anisole as solvent, poly (glyceryl methacrylate) was synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). Polymer-based ligands were synthesized by amino ring-opening reaction, and then the complex material was received through self-assembly reaction between polymer-based ligands and ferrous salts. Polymers and complexes were characterized by FTIR, 1HNMR, and GPC. Moreover, SQUID results showed that the spin-transition process of novel complexes happens slowly.3 Preparing complexes with irregular structure using polymers as"bridge". The composites were synthesized by reaction between poly (glyceryl methacrylate) and spin-transition complexes. Polymers and composites were characterized by FTIR, 1HNMR and GPC. The spin-transition property of complexes was tested by UV. It was found that the introduction of polymers can effectively improve the compatibility of complexes in organic phase, thus the processing properties of complexes were also improved.4 Preparing spin-transition composites with excellent processing properties through physical blending. Spin-transition composites were received by the physically blending of polystyrene and spin-transition complexes. Polymers and composites were characterized by FTIR, 1HNMR and XRD. The spin-transition property of complexes was tested by DSC.
