Optimizing the deep desulfurization process of the slag washing and LF furnace refining in Pingxiang Steel plant is studied , and the best conditions of desulfurization in the process is investigated to make LF furnace refining and converter matching, and to reduce the burden of blast furnace and converter,and to optimize the entire steel production process,and to adapt to the growing demands of modern industrial technology to steel quality.Through the actual production of the slag washing + LF Refining desulfurization, the effect of the process parameters such as the initial content of sulfur, component and amount of slag, and stirring by blowing gas on the efficiency is studied.The results show that the desulfurization effect was obtained to adopt to slag washing for steels. The desulfurization rate is up to 20~30%.Under the same conditions,the desulfurization rate of medium-carbon steel is lower than that of the low-carbon steel.The water in the synthetic slag is less than 0.5% by preheating,and as will not lead more hydrogen to the molten steel.The process of slag washing established the base of rapid desulfurization for white slag refining operations.Under the optimal conditions, the average electrifing time of LF refining is 17 minutes and the desulfurization rate is up to 75% steadily in 35 minutes refining period, and the average sulfur content of refined steel is 0.009%, the lowest sulfur can be down to 0.001%. Finally it achieves LF refining and converter matching.Through the study of the application of the process of slag washing + LF refining slag deep desulfurization, the high efficiency and low cost of "clean steel platform"was builded for Pingxiang steel plant, the low-sulfur and high quality steel was produced economically. It was a positive significance to the sustainable development of Pingxiang steel plant.
