GCr15bearing steel is mainly used for manufacturing the rolling element bearings, ringsand their components. The main drawback of the current widespread use of GCr15bearingsteel is that life is low, which greatly affected the machinery, railway, automobile and so onIndustrys equipped with safety to run normally. The nature, size and number of the nonmetallicinclusions in bearing steel, which have a great influence on the thermal processing performance,fatigue strength and corrosion resistance of bearing steels.Thus, speed up reducing content ofthe nonmetallic inclusions in bearing steel, and improve the cleanliness of the bearing steel isthe future direction of development of the production for bearing steel.High quality bearing steel is very demanding on the sulfur content in the steel smelting thesteel crucial link to select the LF refining slag with good metallurgical properties. The alkalineof BaO more than CaO, optical basicity for CaO is1.15times.Adding the right amount of BaOin the LF refining slag can play to improve the sulfur capacity and the sulfur distribution ratioof the refining slag, and rapid desulfurization of molten steel.LF refining process, the slag foamconducive to the realization submerged arc operation, reduce heat loss and save powerconsumption.In this paper, The CaO-A12O3-MgO-CaF2-SiO2based slag addition to an appropriateamount of BaO refining slag by the second orthogonal regression experimentalmethod.Through the different proportions of15groups refining slag melting temperature,viscosity and laboratory desulfurization. According to the experimental results, back out of therefining slag components (BaO,CaO/Al2O3,SiO2) relationship between the melting temperature,viscosity, and the desulfurization rate by the quadratic orthogonal regression method.Analyzed and discussed the influence of BaO, CaO/Al2O3, SiO2on the refining slagmelting temperature, viscosity and the desulfurization rate. GCr15bearing steel desulfurizationeffect of the refining slag composition range so as to arrive as follows: the content of BaO is6%10%, content ratio of CaO/Al2O3is1.53.0, content of SiO2is8%10%, content of MgO is6%,content of CaF2is10%.
