The insulating glass, being characterized by sound thermal and sound insulation, beautiful appearance for application and light dead weight in the buildings, has gathered the particular attention recently. With the increasing energy-saving standard of building, saving-energy in building has been aware gradually, and the energy efficient insulating glass will have the potential market. Gluing is one of the key processes in producing the insulating glass, and it is of great importance to research and develop the automatic glass glue spreader with independent intellectual property for improving the quality of product. This paper, on the basis of studying the process, is to develop the efficient and cost-effective insulating glass production equipment, and optimize the mechanical structure of glue gun part of automatic glue spreader that is under development with respect to performance and structure.The paper carries out the virtual modeling and simulation assembly of the glue gun motion structure of the glue spreader firstly, and then does the static and dynamic characteristic analysis for the key parts with Solidworks simulation based on the virtual sample machine and finite element technology. The whole glue supply and gluing structures rely on the intermediate connection plate, and are driven by the gear rack for lifting motion. The strength and fatigue performance of the gear pair is analyzed and verified combining with the finite element method and load. For the whole structure is driven in an eccentric manner, there is the eccentric torque on the linear guide rail slide block, the vertical lifting is steered by the linear guide line, and the guide rail bears the dead weight of the whole structure, it is required to carry out the stress and strain analysis for the linear guide rail.For the glue gun part, the center of gravity of existing structure is on the back, and the function and the strength should be taken into consideration in design. Therefore, the model of the whole structure is analyzed, including the frequency band for resonance, stability of structure, and harmonic response of glue supply cantilever structure in the glue gun motion system under the condition where the glue supply system is driven by the plunger pump. Aiming at improving the rigidness and stability of structure, the improvement scheme is proposed and structure design is optimized on the basis of analysis result and problems in the current structure, which will be the verification for improved structure, and provide the reference for further design and development. Furthermore, it will facilitate to further optimize the equipment structure and overall performance, improve the reliability of product, shorten the period for developing the product and reduce the cost for manufacturing and testing the sample machine.
