Development and utilization of dolomite and limestone tailings of low cost, is animportant way to realize energy saving and emission reduction in iron and steel enterprises.By the hot metal pretreatment experiment, dolomite and limestone tailings tailings formolten iron desulfurization agent were studied, finally determined the content ofcompound desulfurizer, and studied on the role of each component in desulfurizing agent. The main conclusions are as follows:1) Dolomite and limestone tailing granularity small, through the detection of tailingschemical composition, dolomite tailings Magnesium Oxide chemical composition for21.26%, calcium oxide is29.51%. The chemical composition of limestone tailings asMagnesium Oxide4.48%, Cao49.30%. The content of calcium oxide and MagnesiumOxide laid foundation for hot metal desulphurization.2) By calcined dolomite tailings, the optimum calcination temperature is1100℃andthe burning time is120minutes. Getting good quality calcined dolomite tailings, whichcan carry out the reduction reaction.3) By dolomite tailings used in experimental study of desulphurization of hot metal, theexperiments were performed at1350℃. Desulfurization time is10min, calcined dolomitetailings quantity1.0g/150gFe, aluminum content12%, calcium fluoride content12%asdolomite tailings optimum conditions for hot metal desulphurization agent experiment, desulfurization, sulfur content of0.005%, desulfurization rate of86.8%.4) Through the limestone tailings used to study pre desulfurization of molten iron, limestone tailings, the experiments were performed at1350℃. Desulfurization time is15min, limestone tailings quantity3.0g/150gFe, carbon content6%, calcium fluoridecontent6%as limestone tailings optimal desulphurization conditions, molten iron sulfurcontent is0.007%, the desulfurization rate reached81.6%.Dolomite and limestone tailings is used to study the desulfurization agent to reducesulfur content of molten iron, and provides a theoretical basis for the later desulfurizationof hot metal pretreatment.Figure16; Table18; Reference55...
