The development of ultra-precision machining technology is the key to international competition. The development of microelectronics industry, optical components, cutting-edge technology, and national defense science and technology needs the precision and ultra precision machining technology. Modern ultra-precision engineering represents the forefront of modern manufacturing technology. Simultaneously, it is also the foundation of advanced manufacturing technology in the future. The ultra-precision v-groove machine tools are mainly used in the ultra-precision machining of micro v-groove, micro cylinder, light tank, backlight modules and scribing.The error budget is a systemic accuracy analysis tool for ultra-precision machine tools. This research originated in the 1980s; many researchers have enhanced and summarized the research method and theory of error budget in the past decades. By studying the ultra-precision machining theory and the design manufacture of v-groove fiber joints connector, we can accurately analyze the machining error of machine tools.This study takes the ultra-precision v-groove machine tools as the research object, analyzes the research method of error budget, gets the predicted form error by machine, and studies the following aspects in detail:Introducing the characteristics of high performance ultra-precision machine tools in abroad, analyzing the research status of error budget in ultra-precision machine tools at home and abroad, and pointing out the research characteristics and the existing shortcomings of error budget in ultra-precision machine tools.By introducting and analysing the flow chart of error budget in ultra-precision machine tools, this paper puts forward the monte-carlo simulation method and uses it in the error budget of ultra-precision v-groove machine tools. This paper detailedly introduces the whole process of simulation machining form error of work pieces and gets good simulation effect. At the same time we show the related theory of RMS (root mean square) method; then we get the error budget of machine tools by using the RMS method.Based on the multi-body system theory, the author makes the topology structure analysis, kinematic chain analysis and establishes the error model; then simulates the form error of the machining work pieces by using the monte-carlo simulation method. Meanwhile, principle of root mean square is also used to simulate the form error of machining work pieces of the ultra-precision v-groove machine tools.First, the various geometric error of ultra-precision v-groove machine tools is obtained based on the actual measurement of laser interferometer; then, the scope of error sources is acquired by data analysis; next, the paper predicts the form error value through computer simulation; finally, the paper gets the law of the influence of varied error sources on form error.
