This article described the properties of graphene, Quantum Hall effect, transparency, doping characteristics and its application. And, summarized the preparation of graphene in recent years, including mechanical peeling method, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), solution synthesis, epitaxial growth method. Meanwhile, explored feasibility of studying the mechanical grinding method in preparing the graphene. In this article, a non-direct experiment, theoretical methods are used to identify three important parameters of mechanical grinding to prepare graphene:Selecting dispersant, the diameter of the milling ball, and the stirring speed. After comparing the four organic solvents: DMF, DMSO, NMP, Methanol, the dispersions of the four concentration in graphene are compared, ultimately chose NMP whose concentration of graphene is the highest one as dispersant in mechanical grinding process. Studied grinding process of preparation of graphene, analyzed the principle of ball milling which is the energy that milling balls pass to the graphite flakes breaks the van der Waals force between the graphite flake layers, get the energy that milling balls pass to the graphite flakes should be greater than the binding energy between the graphite flake layers, that is:ΔE kin,p>EAto get the grapheme delamination from the graphite flakes. According the inequality, determined the parameter in the grinding process which is the milling ball diameter dGM.Used software PFC3D to simulate the grinding parameters obtained the stirring speed V. Then through the experience, we verified the deduction of three parameters.
