Jinchuan Group Co., Ltd. is a large mining group engaged in mining, concentrating, metallurgy and chemical engineering and deep processing, which vertically integrates the mining industry and metals, the first largest platinum group metal manufacturing enterprise in China. Hence, it is very important to obtain accurate contents of these metals in all kinds of samples.In all analysis methods for determination of metal elements, the atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) was widely used to determine the content of trace element and monitor other aspects of the constants in metallurgy, Chemical products, biological experiment, environmental pollutant monitoring, agriculture and health care to the low detection limits and high accuracy, good selectivity, Equipment is simple, easy to operate, rapid analysis, and so on.Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry method (ICP-AES) was first employed in the early 1960’s, which was developed quickly in 1970s. It was used inductively coupled plasma (ICP) as excitation light source. In view of the toroidal structure, high temperature, dense electron and inert atmosphere, ICP-AES has been regarded as an attractive methodological principle to perform simultaneous analysis in a single sample of a whole range of trace elements over a broad concentration range. It also has the advantage features of lower detection Limits, higher resolution and better long-term stability. Therefore, ICP-AES is suitable for detennination of trace element and carrying out scientific research as well as current production.In this paper, the author pointed out the analysis methods of AAS and ICP-AES for determination of gold platinum palladium amount in the solid material with Jinchuan precious metal of enrichment processes.To exert the advantages of AAS and ICP-AES, the following major innovative works are carried out in this dissertation on the basis of the previous:(1) A new method of determining gold, palladium, platinum was developed by AAS in precious metal solid materials.(2) A new method of determining gold, palladium, platinum was developed by ICP-AES in precious metal solid materials.(3)A new method of determining gold, palladium, platinum was developed by ICP-AES in wastewater sample.Conditions were optimized such as selection of sample dissolving method, operating conditions of instruments, interfere of coexisting elements and so on. At same time, the precisions and recoveries are also investigated by the proposed method.
