Boron element received much attention as its higher combustion heat value for a long time, however, it has not been widely used. The main reason:(1) the ignition delay; (2) low combustion efficiency. The long-term storaged boron powder exists such defects as the oxide layer, but even if the new production boron powder also exists obvious ignition delay and incomplete combustion. Aiming at this problem, this study add magnesium and aluminum to the new boron powder to prepare boron/magnesium and boron/aluminum compound material. And put forward a new kind of the preparation of boron/aluminum compound material, make the combustion efficiency of new boron powder higher, and shorten the ignition delay.This article prepared different ratio (6:1,8:1,10:1) boron/magnesium and different size aluminum (80nm,200nm, 1-4μm) boron/aluminum compound materials to study and analysis. The boron/magnesium composites oxidation weight increased by 31.06% and the heat release of boron/magnesium increased by 30.99% conpare to original boron. The burning rate of (B+ Mg)/BaCrO4 delay composition is two times as that of B/BaCrO4. The boron aluminum composite heat release increased by 31.84% and the weight gain of boron aluminum increased by 41.86% than the original. And the burning rate of (B+Al)/BaCrO4 is 2.3 times as that of B/BaCrO4. And puts forward a new method to further improve the the ignition and combustion performance of boron/aluminum compound material.Then the boron aluminum composite material was prepared after a new processing method of boron. The results show that after treatment of boron powder, the weight gain of boron aluminum compound material increased by 20.88% and the heat release increased by 41.25% than the original boron.The begining temperature of the reaction is 20-30℃ earlier than the original boron. After the processing of boron,the delay composition of boron aluminum composite burning rate is there times faster than that of the original boron. And through the process of laser ignition process of treated boron powder ignition delay shorter aluminum composite material, the combustion speed increased.
