Traditional production planning models do not involve constraints for process operations. In order to obtain the optimal refinery production planning and ensure that unit operating conditions of optimization plan can be achieved simultaneously, production planning and process operations were optimized and integrated for petrochemical industries. The operating conditions were obtained using process simulation software with the optimal production plan.Changes of the supply of raw materials, the market demand for products and operating conditions of equipment, will cause the change of material flow, as well as the energy consumption. Typically, the process of production optimization does not consider that the changes in the production process will affect the energy consumption, resulting in the energy consumption of actual production process will be greater than the energy consumption of design phase. It is necessary to establish the multi-media energy consumption model based on different production processes to calculate the actual energy consumption. If the process routes and the modes of products have been changed, it will result in changes in energy consumption. In this article, an integrated optimization approach of operation and production planning with energy constraints, and based on the refinery process simulation platform to make the evaluation of application on the production plans. The main contents of this thesis are as follows:In Chapter 1, the overview of refinery production planning background and process simulation background are introduced, as well as the situation of the refinery integrated technology. Later, this paper’s research objectives and innovative points are presented.In Chapter 2, the overview of the process of crude distillation and crude oil distillation unit, as well as the features and functions of the process simulation software which we use. Based on the simulation software, build a crude oil distillation unit model to settle the base of operation optimization.In Chapter 3, according to key process parameters characteristic of the device, propose a method of integrating production planning and process operation based on a crude oil distillation unit simulation model. The results of the case demonstrated that the proposed method can ensure the accessibility of production plan, optimize the plan a greater role in the production practice of production.In Chapter 4, in the third chapter, ignores the impact of production optimization on system energy consumption. To solve this problem, the refinery’s energy consumption is divided into fixed and variable energy consumption, analyzed several key factors that affect the energy consumption, and then establish a multi-media energy consumption model of refinery to calculate the energy consumption of different production processes, and then the cost of energy consumption model is introduced in the production planning.In Chapter 5, based on the refinery process simulation platform, refine the model of the key devices of the simulation platform, the optimal solutions of three kinds of the production planning established in this paper have been decomposed into simulation instructions, create and configure the simulation scene, make the evaluation of application on the production plans.In Chapter 6, the thesis is concluded with a summary and the questions which need further research in the future are also discussed.
