The 600,000 ton/year of continuous catalytic reforming unit of Changqing petrochemical company, is a set of important equipment to be built. China Petroleum First Construction Corporation and Sixth Construction Corporation are responsible for the construction and installation of the equipment, which adopts the craft kits from the Axens Company of France and is designed by Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Corporation(LPEC). The device includes raw material pretreatment unit, reforming unit, catalyst regeneration, benzene extraction, a total of four process units. Automation control points of the apparatus total to more than 2200, which is the most complex and able to acquire the most data in all the devices of the company.In response to this situation, we are using AC800 F DCS control system in ABB company. The system is configured with four pairs of redundant CPU controller, which controls each of the four process units and acquires data. ABB AC800 F DCS system is a control platform based on the industrial IT. It features high level of industrial automation, open integration controller, high efficiency, advanced scalable solutions, open communication, and plug-and-play. At the same time, the equipment possesses a global data management system, which is a leading automation control system integrating the advantages of DCS and PLC.In the device, the technology core of the catalyst regeneration unit demands automatic control scheme of sequence control, which is an important part of the device. Because it directly determines the normal cycle、 regeneration of the catalysts, playing an extremely important role in the entire device. Based on the previous experience, the implementation of the scheme depends on complete set of control program of other system integration companies(the black box project). But the cost of the equipment and maintenance is high and it also causes great difficulties for later expansion and retrofit. So in order to solve the problem, this paper makes bold innovation and research. By programming independently in ABB AC800 F DCS system, sequential control configuration function is realized(Sequential Function Chart is also called SFC in short.). Through debugging and simulation field environment, it was required to use the technology package of Axens, achieve automation sequential control of catalytic and put it into production. At the completion of the projection, the advanced level if the control system will reach the domestic similar device.
