With the Yi ethnic group’s costume in Longlin autonomous counties in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as research object,this paper starts with the view of anthropology and art, and makes comprehensive analytic demonstration about contemporary reconstruction of Longlin Yi ethnic group’s costume art. The thesis strives to reveal the universal principle of development and transition of traditional culture and art of minorities facing the great changes of survival environment, and then provide certain experiences and theories for the digging, protection and development of minority culture and art.Firstly, author makes the whole process of a systematic introduction to the transition of Longlin Yi ethnic group’s costume art from a national characteristic image under traditional society to become fracture and digestion before reforming and opening; Then, author transfers the focus to the period from 1980 s to 1990 s and analyzes how Longlin Yi ethnic group’s traditional culture returns to people’s life after China readjusted the policy toward ethnic culture, and makes detailed discussion on the reconstruction process of new-type ethnic costumes; At last, author gives affirmation and reflection on the value of contemporary reconstruction of Longlin Yi ethnic group’s costume art, and consider that, Under the context of globalization and modernization, the contemporaryreconstruction of Longlin Yi ethnic group’s costume art not only reflects the pursuit of people for beauty, but also reflects the efforts of national members to reform, reconstruct and self-adjust national culture in order to adapt to the variation of cultural eco-environment during the period of social transition, however, the reconstruction of clothing art should based on the full understanding of culture connotation of the local clothing, not blindly “transplantation” and “borrowing” without rules.
