Fire accidents happen frequently due to the hostile environment, numerous flammable of the oil field. So fire alarm system is extremely important for the oil field. However, people can’t master the actual situation of the fire scene just rely on the fire alarm signals, and it may even occur misjudgment. Hence, we introduce the video surveillance to the fire alarm system in this thesis. In addition, there exist some problems in the video transmission process, such as the lost message due to the large quantities of transmission data, network congestion resulted from unreasonable storage space allocation, delay of the bad network environment and so on. Therefore, it is urgent to investigate an efficient and reliable real-time video transmission scheme. We introduce the wireless streaming media technology to the video surveillance. By jointly using H.264 compression coding technologies, RTSP real-time transport protocol and wireless bridge technology, we propose a fire alarm video surveillance scheme based on sensor and wireless video streaming media transmission. The scheme is beneficial to watch the fire, and can improve the reliability and security of the disaster and the instantaneity and security of video transmission simultaneously.Firstly, we design the fire alarm system. The front end is composed of flame sensor and smoke sensor, reducing the leakage alarm probability. In order to be compatible with SBC3730 development board system and solve the problem of unstable hardware recognition, we design the driver programs and application files of the fire sensor. By transforming the smoke and flame data into output signal to trigger the alarm, we realize the fire alarm function. Then, we design the wireless network. The wireless bridge point to multi-point network mode is utilized for the WLAN, enlarging the area of network coverage and solving the delay problem of the bad network environment. Then, we build the RTSP streaming media server based on live555, present video acquisition method based on V4L2, and implement the data acquisition of the fire video. Considering the compatibility problem of video data and media server, we propose a strategy for video transcode. By utilizing FFmpeg, we can transform the MJPEG format video into H.264 format which is suitable for transmission on the streaming media server. Besides, the video data is packed via the streaming media technology based on RTSP. We achieve the interaction between streaming media server and VLC client, and complete real-time playback of fire video. Finally, we test the whole system. Test results show that when the client needs to check the real-time video images of the fire scene, the server can accomplish the real-time playback, and guarantee the fluency of the video and definition of the picture. The proposed system scheme can not only save the bit rate and storage space, but also increase the instantaneity and reliability of the video transmission. Furthermore, it provides support for the docking with ONVIF and facilitates the late storage.
