Laser direct forming manufacturing is used more and more widely in the modern production, however, the surface accuracy is affected due to uneven surface or dross of the cladding during the forming of thin-walled parts by laser cladding, and even lead to subsequent processing of the molding. In view of this situation,the project of “advanced micro-nano powders feeding in composite precision forming based on laser cladding and laser milling”(project number :51205266) proposed new method of hybrid laser formation for laser cladding, surface topography measurement and laser milling combined. This paper focuses on the design of 3D measurement system, This paper focuses on the design of 3D measurement system, also called surface morphology measurement which is a part of the hybrid laser formation.This paper builds 3D measurement system which consist of electronic motion platform, measuring system, electrical control system and data processing system. And develop a set of software to process the measured data independently with VC++ and the technology of image processing.The concrete research contents are as follows:1) Describing the function of 3D measurement system and the role in laser compound forming technology.2) Dividing the 3D measurement system into several modules, moreover,explain and analyze the role and function of each module.3) Designing the mechanical structure parts of 3D measurement system, including the bracket of high speed profilometer and two-dimensional motion platform.In addition,analyze and control the precision of the motion platform,and check the key components.4) Expounding the working principle of 3D measurement system,and developing a data processing software with VC++ independently.5) Carrying on the experimental study on cladding surface measurement and software processing results using the 3D measurement system.The 3D measurement system, not only can measure surface morphology and getsurface data of the cladding parts,but also can obtain the scope of height and the high point regional picture which the dimension match with the cladding part and can be use by laser milling software directly by process the data,and thus to achieve closed-loop control of 3D topography.
