The cognitive evaluation of fabrics handle is various and multi-level, there will be a process with subjective perception and objective sense.In this paper,28 kinds of silk fabrics were taken as subjects, cognitive behavior and electrophysiological experiment method were used to study the smoothness, softness and lightness of them under the background of cognitive neuroscience. The total of effective subjects was 171.Firstly,cognitive behavioral experiments of silk fabrics handle were taken under three different sensory modalities(haptic,visual,visual—haptic).Then the EEG signals of silk fabrics handle were collected under the haptic modality through EEG experiment. Finally, some prediction models were set up between the objective KES index and cognitive score, EEG signals.Gender, exploratory manners and sensory modality all have influence on the cognition of silk handle. The women’ handle was more sensitive then the men’. The cognition under the exploratory manner of fingertips kneading is more significant than other two kinds. The cognition under the sensory modality of visual—haptic is more significant than other two kinds, and it is consistent of the cognition under sensory modality of haptic. The cognitive rules under the three sensory modalities are different; the related KES index is different too,so the prediction models set up are also different.The maximum amplitudes on 18 electrodes are related to the cognitive score. The maximum amplitudes on P4 obey a normal distribution, the largest range of maximum amplitude are as follows: crepe de chine:59.6-70.1,crepe satin plain:49.1-59.6,georgette:46.5-57.4,habotai:49.8-60.2,crinkle GGT:45.7-59.6.When the fabric is more smooth, the trend value of maximum amplitudes will be more large.When it comes to the handle cognition of crepe satin plain,the percentage composition of alpha is highly correlated to softness and lightness, the higher the content of alpha, theBetter the softness and lightness are. On the other hand, there is significant correlation between the KES index: T0, B, 2HB, WC, and the percentage composition of alpha. The models is Yα=-5.114B+19.329,Whose R is 0.941 and R2 is 0.886>0.7,so the model is practical. The last but not the list, the percentage composition of Beta is significant correlated to the KES index: G, 2HG5; the percentage composition of theta s significant correlated to the KES index: TM.
