Shockproof Furniture Design Research Based On Scenario Design Method

In recent years, the increasing of quantity and the intensity of the earthquake, has caused serious damage to human life and property safety, and also has caused enormous damage to the natural environment and social environment. The huge disruptions of earthquake has becomed an inevitable topic face people.According to the analysis, the casualties in the earthquake are mainly hurt by the collapsed buildings and overturned indoor furniture. When earthquake strucks, people living in the lower floors or bungalows are tend to escape from their houses in the first time. However, earthquake environment is full of uncertain and dangerous factors, the escaping channels are often blocked by collapse of the building or overturned furniture, and jump through the window blindly can easily causes unnecessary injuries. So if there is no effective tools, people are easily trapped and hurted; People lives in higher floors tend to find locally protection in the earthquake. Table, desk, bed and wardrobe are main refuge objects chosed buy victims. But in some destructive earthquake, ordinary furnitures can’t stand the pressure of smashing houses, this is because in terms of ordinary furnitures’ material, structure, shape, do not have earthquake emergency functions, and ordinary furnitures can’t appease the mood of the victims too.In on-the-spot investigation phase, the author studies the relationship between people’s reaction time and the earthquake effect in the earthquake environment; the relationship between people’s attribute differences, living environment and survival behavior;and the survival methods, survival effect, physical protection measures and the situation of the injured and trapped of different kinds of survivors.Then, the author sums up different kinds of needs of victims in the earthquake environment, both of physiological needs and psychological needs. After classifies the related factors of shockproof furniture’s usage scenarios, The author summes up the refuging situations and escaping situations of people in the earthquake environment.By the interviews and questionnaires of people who have earthquake experiences, the author obtains the first-hand user information, which provides scientific data support to typical user role building and scenario building. At the same time, the simulated earthquake experience in earthquake experience pavilions helpes to inspire the author’s perceptual cognition and innovation thinking, and deepening the author’s understanding of the real situation.On the basis of research results, the author analys the form, color, texture, materials, structure of shockproof furniture, and summarizes the principles of applying the scenario design to shockproof furniture design. Then the author analys the related elements of people furniture earthquake interactive system, and integrates this elements into people’s escaping scenario and asyluming scenario. Then, the author expounds the interaction and relationship of people, furniture, earthquake in the earthquake environment. In the end, the author summarizes the problems in people’s escaping and asyluming process, and sums up people’s requirements and expectations of furniture shockproof function. Finally, combining with the characteristics on structure, function and using method of different types furniture, the author summarizes the design methods of different kinds of shockproof furniture.Introducing the methods of scenario design to shockproof furniture design research is scientific and reasonable. Because shockproof furnitures are specially designed for people meeting with earthquake, the situation of earthquake is very special and complicated, and products using in different situations, used by different people can perform different functions. So, it is needed to build different usage scenarios in shockproof furrniture design, and put shockproof furnitures into the earthquake environment system to study. This research is not to design a particular shockproof furniture, the author aims at studying the design methods and principles of using scenario design methods to guid the shockproof furniture design.
