With the rapid growth of the national economy, especially the rapid development of theconstruction, automobile and trade business in recent years, the need of glass in domestic andabroad market becomes more and more. The glass edge grinding machine is one of the keyequipments in the field of glass deep processing. The machines can divide into straight-line style,oblique-line style, round-curve style and so on. The two straight-line style is a kind of widely usedglass edge grinding machine at present, and it uses PLC as controller to control the mechanicalmotion to grind, chamfer and polish the edge to achieve the desired results.The common machine can’t perform well for a variety of reasons in the process of working,such as edge-breaking, the bad polishing result, the great error of diagonal and so on. Besides, theintelligence of domestic existing machine changes rate inferior still and it can’t search and solve theproblems quickly when the system fails. The professional staffs often need to go to fieldmaintenance, which not only gives rise to the waste of human resources, but also can’t meet therequirements of the market for the long time-consuming.Firstly, the work principle and structure of the glass edge grinding machine are introduced inthis paper. And the paper analyses the reasons of the common quality faults in the process ofgrinding glass, including the problems of algorithm, components and the glass cooling. Secondly,the paper proposes a new control method in variable frequency speed regulation system based on ofFuzzy PID algorithm to improve the traditional PID algorithm. Through the simulation inMATLAB/Simulink, the difference between the two controlling outputs is compared. And themethods of hardware, software and HMI design are introduced to improve the positioning precision.At last, to enhance the self-detection and self-diagnosis ability of the system, the paper completesthe preliminary design of the database system for the glass edge grinding intelligent-machine andperfects the system database.Through the study of control system for the glass edge grinding intelligent-machine based onPLC in this paper, the common problems of the machine in the process of working are solvedeffectively and the effect is improved, which lays a foundation for further study on improving theintelligence.
