Glass edge grinder is an integrand facility for glass advanced machining; the main function is grinding glass to specific forms according to requirements. This article discourses upon how to design glass grinder base on PLC S7-226. It is a presentation of current status of glass grinder and the specific form in the first part of this article. These specific forms are: line bevel edge, basic wave edge, wave edge in a line, wave edge in double line, leaf wave edge, and leaf wave edge in a line. Then introduce the control system design status of glass grinder. The core hardware is PLC S7-226, plus connecting circuit, communication appliance and intelligentized software. The high speed counter monitor motor's rev to control different grinding form according to a rotated coder; The software is a PLC program which collecting all kinds of switch signal, rotated angle of milling wheel and measurement of milling wheel go forward; parameter's calculation about rotated angle of milling wheel and measurement of milling wheel go forward, and output control etc. The author collects PWS1711 human-machine interface which progress real time watching and parameter setting.The article introduces design of human-machine interface. Several menus were designed in human-machine interface to implement system function, there are including: main menu, parameter setting menu for grinding linear bevel edge, control menu, manual adjustment menu, and debug menu etc. In order to improve grinding precision, the common alternating electromotor has been changed to servo electromotor in improved design..The article discusses the control idea ,and based on PLC of Fuzzy-PID is designed.
