With the rapid development of the local economy, the rapid increase in the totalGDP, Holingol growing demand for water has increased, along with increasedexploitation of groundwater, exploitable groundwater resources is in decline everyyear, water supply and demand have become increasingly prominent, water qualitychanges every year. So analysis and assessment the groundwater quality of Holingolis very meaningful.The scope of this research area is the entire Holingol, which is located northwestof Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia, the geographical coordinates of longitude:119°13’38"-119°45’19", latitude:45°09’19"-45°35’57", an area of585km2. Combineof The scope of the study area and the location of three, four-level surface watershed,the research area can be also divided into Shaerhure, Wulagai River, Dundenuoerthree hydrogeological units (four-level groundwater system).The assessment of the target aquifer is unified by four subsystems of the aquifer.They are loose rock pore and fissure bedrock weathering zone phreatic aquifer system,loose rock pore and fissure clastic rock pore unconfined aquifer system and clasticrock pore fissure unconfined aquifer system etc. According to the formation,burialconditions and dynamic characteristics of the study area groundwater, regionalgroundwater dynamic type can be divided into infiltration-runoff-evaporation andmining type, infiltration-runoff type, infiltration-runoff-exploitation type, runoffand runoff type-mining type, These types of dynamic type also have certaintransforming relationship with the changes of seasons replacement and artificialmining intensity. The main source of groundwater recharge is precipitation and lateralrunoff supply, the main form of excretion is runoff, artificial mining and depositdrainage. Groundwater Hydrochemistry Distribution of the study area is affected bymany factors:physical geography, geology, hydro-geological conditions and human activities. Groundwater chemical type is mainly HCO3-Ca type, HCO3-Ca Mg type,HCO3-Ca Na type, HCO3-Na type, HCO3-Na Ca type, HCO3SO4-Ca Na type,there are HCO3-Na Mg Ca type, HCO3Cl-Na type and HCO3SO4-Na Mg Ca typescattered.The assessment of the background and status of groundwater quality in the studyarea use the Nemerow index method and fuzzy comprehensive assessment method.The overall background of water quality in the study area is good. Thegroundwater quality level which is between good to excellent ranges accounted is88.4%of the total area by using Nemerow index method. The groundwater qualityclassification which is between Ⅰ~Ⅲ ranges accounted is94.3%of the total area byusing Fuzzy comprehensive assessment method. Poor water quality all appear in thecentral and northern part of the study area by using two methods.The current quality level which is between good to excellent ranges accounted is77.3%of the total area by using Nemerow index method. The current qualityclassification which is between Ⅰ~Ⅲ ranges accounted is92.3%of the total area byusing Fuzzy comprehensive assessment method. Position of the poor water qualityappears expanded on the basis of the background and some new poor water qualityrange appears. Two groundwater quality assessment methods’ Assessment results allshow that the groundwater quality in the study area tends to be deteriorated.Analyze the reasons, mainly due to the discharge of living residents’ wastewater,a large number of pesticides and fertilizers used in agricultural production infiltrationby precipitation, surface mine water drainage, harmful ingredients in gangue and coalleaching into groundwater with the precipitation, supporting industries of coalproduced a large number of industrial wastewater discharge.
