Coal mine communication plays an important role in mine safety, production optimization and disaster relief Research shows that the coal mine leakage communication is a reliable method. However, there are three main problems in traditional coal mine leakage communication system:1. Because of the existence of signal dead space, the wireless signal is really difficult to reach underground.2. Current products are single-functional and difficult to spread.3. Current products are unable to ensure the transmission of underground information.In this paper, the difficulty of the design in bidirectional relay amplifier was studied. Based on the system requirements, the bidirectional relay amplifier was designed both in hardware and software. For the hardware, the original design was improved though the research of leakage communication. The new design includes receiver demodulation module, sender modulation module, micro controller module and power module. The text results show that the new bidirectional relay amplifier is stable, and the related functions could meet the requirements.For the software, the process of initial configuration and the communication protocol were designed. Besides, a signal control system was designed. The system includes many functions, i.e. channel selection and calibration, RSSI (received signal strength indicator) and the control of output power programming. The simulation and experiment results show that the design of the software is efficient and stable, and the related functions could meet the requirements.
