In the long history of development, geometry patterns, China’straditional decorating patterns, has been through thousands of year’stransformation. It contains particular aesthetic connotations of Chinesenations from each stage. In Qing dynasty, the geometry patterns hadreached its peak form and took an important position in the costume patterndesign. It’s connotation expression was also rich in diversity andmassively applied on costume. To research the geometry patterns in thecostume design application can not only inherit the traditional culture,but also satisfy the particular pattern requirements from customizedcostume. By combining the geometry patterns in Qing dynasty and thecustomized costume together will contribute the traditional culturalheritage.With the rapid development of China’s economy, the relevantconsumptions on high-end luxury products are showing a rising trend.Currently, China has been the No.1market for luxury brands. The luxuryindustry is also rocketing in China which provides extensive space forthe development of customized costume industry. In recent years, numerousbrand costumes have begun their customized costume service. From the QiGang’s senior costume show held by Botao costume factory in2002to theNe-Tiger’s “Mingyuan” senior evening dress show held in2003and fromthe Guo Pei’s “One thousand and two nights” show held by Rose Studioin2009, Laurence Xu’s France Pairs senior customized costume show heldin2013to Ne-Tiger’s “Dayuan” senior customized costume show, Chinarepresented her fashionable and national customized costume through showsand proved to the world the confidence and ability to be the world costumecenter.The author paid close attention to the field of customized costumedesign and used to research the historical culture heritage of Qing patterns with the tutor. By starting from the origin and development ofgeometry patterns, the author had classified the patterns into severaltypes and sorted out and summarized the connotation of each patterncombination. Based on the particular requirement on the patterns of thecustomized costume design, the author concluded and developed the designmode of combining the geometry patterns in Qing dynasty and the customizedcostume design. By studying the historical documents and variousexpression methods of Qing geometry patterns on traditional costume andmodern costume and combining the design practice, especially the geometrypattern design practice for customized costume, in the enterprises, theauthor had carried out practical research to pave practice foundationsfor the smooth wrap up of the paper.Starting from the design practice and adopting the method of inductionand case analysis, the author studied the historical heritage of themodern designers from the Qing geometry patterns and discussed the rulesof Qing geometry patterns designing on modern customized costume. Afterbeing verified from theory to practice and re-verified by practice, theconclusion was drawn to provide research directions and theoryfoundations for the further innovative research on the customized costumewith Qing geometry patterns.
