Based On The Design And Research Of The Furniture Products For The Group-"the Ant Tribe"

In recent years, with the rapidly development of the urbanization and the enlargement of cityscale, it has produced a group--”the ant tribe”who has accepted the high education. They areclever and positive. And also they are full of expectations for the future, especially believe theyoung people who realize their dreams by their struggling. This group mainly lives in large andmedium-sized cities. Due to they just graduate from the university, they have low incomes andcan’t afford to their houses. So they have to choose to live in the rural-urban continuum or thesuburban areas where the transportation is convenient and the living cost is lower. Usually, theylive in a narrow house with a group of three or five people. The living space is really too small, iteven can’t put down the necessary furniture. Even if it can put down some unnecessary furniture,the space will become narrower. During their daily lives, they may bump against the furniturewhen they walk or turn round, which made their living environment become very embarrassingand brought much inconvenience to their daily life. Therefore, the reason why I write this articleis to help “the ant tribe” to solve the embarrassing condition. I try to do some systematizeresearch through the group’s living methods and living space environment. First, designing apractical way: I will design a series of furniture that can make the using space become “small”.Each single furniture can be dismounted by using the mortise and tenon joint structure skillfully.There is no screw in the furniture. According to the change of the environment, it can joint itsseries of products, which can expand its practical function and make the operation becomeconvenient. It is also very environmental and can save the living space effectively. I also want tomake their living space be arranged in good order, comfortable and convenient through thecreative jointed module-furniture and finally improve their living environment.This article has five parts. The first part mainly represents the research background, meaningand the aim of this topic and confirm the investigative necessity and urgency of this topic. Thesecond part states the definition and the reason of formation of “the ant tribe”. Through doing themarketing research to know their current living space, the condition of some related products andthe development of the furniture. The third part is to reveal some defects and appeal points of thefurniture that the group--”the ant tribe” uses by doing some document research and many kindsof questionnaire survey. The main reason why the furniture may have a serious impact on theconvenience, comfort and sweet feeling of the group’s living space is that the current single furniture covers large area. Also the furniture is hard to move. And its function is limited. It islack of beauty and can’t blend with the environment. The fourth part and five part is the mainbody of the article. It presents the solution of their embarrassing living space through designingthe practical way. The two parts mainly propose how to deal with each single furniture in thegroup’s lives. And the new joint furniture after the module designing can provide the group withconvenience and comfort in their lives. Using the mortise and tension joint structure skillfullycan make combination according to the different environmental conditions to expand its originalfunction. In the end, I will sum up the designing strategy and methods that the previous partsreflect, which will form an instructional design principle. And then I will guide the design intopractice by the principle.
