It is the key to ecological restoration of quarry that knowing the biology and ecological characteristics of the dominant plants in abandoned quarry. This thesis had researched the dominant plants Rumex hastatus and Dodonaea viscosa in abandoned quarry ecological restoration by seed germination associate with the soil seed pool, seed maturity, temperature, illumination and the effect of cutting propagation on habitat transformation. The restrict factor of restoration of limestone mining wasteland is also discussed. From the perspective of ecology and biology, a number of suggestions for ecological restoration of quarry are provided.Research shows:1.Soil seed pool is the restrict factor of ecological restoration of middle Yunnan abandoned quarry. To achieve to ecological restoration, the artificial soil seed pool should be introduced before rainy season coming.2.The mature Rumex hastatus seeds without aril are able to achieve best germination rate between20℃to25℃and illumination. It should be paid attention when beginning introductions:seed collecting should be done during middle of December and stored indoor nature temperature, seed should be dibbled before next rainy season, seed level cannot exceed1cm. In order to ensure air permeability and water retention, seed should be covered by non-woven fabric.3.The mature Dodonaea viscosa seeds without aril are able to achieve best germination rate at condition60℃20minutes. It should be paid attention when beginning introductions:seed collecting should be done during middle of December and stored indoor nature temperature, seed should be dibbled before next rainy season, seed aril should be peel off and heat shock processing should be done at60℃about20 minutes before dibbling. In order to ensure air permeability and water retention, seed should be covered by non-woven fabric.4.Rumex hastatus has a significant improvement for soil temperature, soil humidity, nitrogen, phosphorus of abandoned quarry. It can provide living condition for other specials which likely to be planted in such arduous habitat.
