In the modern organic synthesis, Nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds are widely used in many fields of organic, drug synthesis, materials etc. Howere, in present the majority of the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds have many shortcomings such as the existence of material toxicity, harsh reaction conditions, noble metal catalyst and so on.The methods of green and efficient catalytic synthesis of nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds is becoming more and more popular. The paper will study alcohols in the application of benzazoles and quinoxalines, moreover, this thesis is composed of the following three parts: 1. The tradition methods of oxidation of alcohols. 2. the study of the reaction based on alcohols in the application of benzazoles which catalyzed by bases and air as the oxidation. 3. the study of the reaction based on alcohols in the application of quinoxlines which catalyzed by base and air as the oxidation. In the first part, we reviewed the research progress of the method for oxidation of alcohol, and the new methods developed later. In the second part, we reviewed the research progress of the methods of the synthesis of benzazoles, including the tradition condensation of 2?substituted aniline with chloride, amide, carboxylic acid, ester, aldehyde, ketone, nitrile, alkyl halides and others. We exploited the synthesis method of oxidation condensation between alcohols and 2?substituted aniline catalyzed by the oxidation system composed by t-BuONa-Air, which can prepare benzazoles compounds with green and high effiency with catalyst free of transition metal under air, and we study the mechanism of the research. In the third part, based on the study of large number of literatures, we sum up the literatures on synthesis of quinoxlines from various compounds, including the condensation of o-diaminobenzene with 1,2-diketones, α-hydroxy ketones, ketones, alkene, alkyne and the others. We study the preparation of quinoxalines by the condensation of α-hydroxy ketones and o-diaminobenzene catalyzed by the oxidation system of CsOH-Air.
