Tails is that mineral resources makes use of hit the target inevitable outcome, the tails warehouse is these the outcome memory space, tails warehouse construction is to affect mine economic effect key factor with being in motion and doing business. The characteristic property because of high tails warehouse potential energy, makes it becomming one kind of latent dangerous source.The first half part of the article has introduced the tails warehouse composition factor and the essential features of every factor.and has introduced the security evaluation factors of the tail.In the introducing of security evaluation factors, saturation line and stability analysis principle is mainly introduced. Saturation line is the lifeline of a tail. The height of saturation line has direct impact to the safe condition to tails dam. In the stability analysis principle introducing,it emphatically introduces the limit equilibrium method including the Sweden slice method, Bishop method, Janbu method.The second part of the article bases on the tail dam 1, Combined with LIZHENG software, calculates seepage flow analysis when normal water level and flood water level.Then it does the stability calculation with Sweden slice method, Bishop method, Janbu method.The results displays that saturation line becoming higher when the water level rising,at the same time, minimum safety factor becomes lower.On the normal water level and flood water level condition, the minimum safety factor is still higher than industry standard.It finds that the minimum safety factor is the smallest calculated by Sweden slice method whether in normal water level and flood water level.This is caused by Sweden slice method not considering the force between soil bands.So,we only calculate the minimum safety factor with Sweden slice method on normal water level and flood water level condition.On the earthquake m=7 and m=8 condition, the minimum safety factor becomes lower when earthquake higher.The results displays that the minimum safety factor’s’lowered range on earthquake m=8 is higher than m=7.On the normal water level,safety factor decreases 5%, when earthquake m=7,and safety factor decreases 15% when earthquake m=8. On the flood water level,it becomes 4% and 16%. On the earthquake m=7 and m=8 condition, the minimum safety factor is higher than industry standard,so,the dam is safety.
