Nowadays, the refiner(Al-5Ti-B、Al-5Ti-0.25C) and the modifier(Al-10Sr) are widely used in the Aluminum alloy casting industry in China. In this dissertation, after comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the refiner and the modifier used in common, we find a creative way to improve the mechanical properties of the Aluminum alloy wheel by mixed use of both. In order to find the best result of matching the refiner and the modifier, orthogonal experiment is adopted. Combined with the real production, we optimized results and do adaptive research on the optimized process.The research results showed that the Al-5Ti-B has a positive effect on the strength improvement of the Aluminum alloy wheel and the Al-5Ti-0.25 C has the same effect on the elongation improvement. Both of them have the same effect on the HB of the wheel hub and are prior to the modifier Al-10 Sr for the improvement of the mechanical properties. The research results also showed that the best ingredient distribution for the refinement and the modification process of A356.2 and the improvement of the mechanical properties of the Aluminum alloy wheel is 0.2wt% Al-5Ti-B, 0.2wt% Al-5Ti-0.25 C and 0.016wt% Al-10 Sr.Combined with orthogonal experiment, the adaptive results showed that the optimized process has slight effect on the rate of the finished products. And the mechanical properties of the Aluminum alloy wheel which applied the new refinement and modification process showed that the yield strength σs increased at least 4.42%, the UTS σb 4.74%, the elongation 9.37% and the HB 17.11%. Besides, the optimized process also helps to bring an average of 10.39% reduction in DASⅡ(μm).Through the electronic SEC scanning, it is found that the new process can not only improve the modification of Si agent in the boundaries of the eutectic region obviously, but also helps to decrease the separate out of the undefined black objects of the initial α-Al.The optimized process provides a creative solution for the Aluminum alloy wheel manufactures to improve the mechanical properties of the wheel. It can also works as a reference for the commercialization development of the refiner and the modifier.
